Matthew 2:9-11 (New King James Version)
"When they heard the king, they departed; and behold, the star which they had seen in the East went before them, till it came and stood over where the young Child was. When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceedingly great joy. And when they had come into the house, they saw the young Child with Mary His mother, and fell down and worshiped Him. ....... "
They rejoiced at the star with exceeding great joy because it was leading them to the greatest eternal Light, Emmanuel (God with Us). The star's purpose was to lead them to the one they would bow and worship. We are to be like the Christmas star, a very bright light, leading people to the Savior, The Light of the World.
John 1:1-5 (New King James Version) "...In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it."
His Life and Light overcame the darkness and gives us a reason to rejoice like the Wise-men...
even in the midst of a dark economy.
Isaiah 60:1-3 (New King James Version)
1 Arise, shine; For your light has come! And the glory of the LORD is risen upon you.
2 For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, And deep darkness the people; But the LORD will arise over you, And His glory will be seen upon you.
3 The Gentiles shall come to your light, And kings to the brightness of your rising. Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life. (John 8:12 kjv)
Praise God His Light has overcome the spiritual darkness of this world. We that have His life in us also have His light with the mandate to share His Light.
Mat 5:14-16 KJV " Ye are the light of the world. ........... Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven."
Let His light Shine through you!!!!!!
Luke 1:76-79 (New King James Version)
76 “ And you, child, will be called the prophet of the Highest; For you will go before the face of the Lord to prepare His ways,
77 To give knowledge of salvation to His people By the remission of their sins,
78 Through the tender mercy of our God, With which the Dayspring from on high has visited[a] us;
79 To give light to those who sit in darkness and the shadow of death, To guide our feet into the way of peace.”
God bless and Merry Christmas!
